Here at Haute|31 we still are thinking about all the amazing women out there that are mothers.
I wanted to share a story with you. 26 years ago a little baby girl was born in Panama. The mother was a young girl who was only 14 years old. She wasn’t married and had no place to go. She knew she couldn’t raise her and take care of her so she decided to give the her up for adoption.
Meanwhile there was family that was living in Puerto Rico at the time. There was a father, mother, sister, and brother. The mother knew she wanted to adopt so she prayed for about 7 years that God in is perfect timing would answer her prayer. One day while the mother, sister, and brother were out running errands, there was a phone call. The father being the only one home answered it. It was some missionary friends that worked in Panama with an Indian tribe called the Kuna Indians. She told him that she had a little baby girl that was just born and needed a family. She asked him if they would take her…without hesitation he said “Yes!” Soon the mother and father were on their way to Panama to pick up their new little girl.
That little girl was me. Not a day goes by that I think about my birthmother and the choice she had to make. My prayer is to meet her and thank you for allowing me to have a good life. I have been blessed to have a loving family that has always been there for me and has loved me like I was there own! My birthmother could have done things differently in her situation but I thank God she chose life for me. To me, she is an amazing woman to be honored. Another amazing woman is my mom who I wouldn’t be the person and woman that I am today without her. She has been there with me, pushing me when I thought I couldn’t go any farther. This is my story, and I hope it touches you in some way.
I also wanted to share with you some friends that are in the process of adoption. Please go check out there story here!
